MARFA, TEXAS: A small west Texas ranching town, in the 1970's Marfa became the site of artist Donald Judd's permanent sculptural installations. A revitalization followed, luring artists and art-lovers from around the world. The Chinati Foundation was established to house Judd's art after his death in 1994, and today Marfa enjoys an international reputation for its art, restaurants, mysterious "Marfa lights" and majestic desert setting.
