Escadaria Selarón steps in Rio de Janeiro, near the Lapa and Santa Teresa neighborhoods. Chilean-born artist Jorge Selarón began renovating the 215 steps in 1990, using mosaic of brightly hued tiles from all over the world. Mr. Selarón died in January 2013.
